What
are the Add-Ons?
Can
I manually resize the window to
make space for adding new shortcuts?
How can I add my favorite URLs directly from my browser, HTML or document?
How can I arrange the shortcuts to make it easier to locate them when launching them?
The
shortcuts icons are always full-size
(32x32). Can I change their sizes
to small (16x16)?
Every
time I press the programs's hotkey,
the window is shown in a different
place. Can I change this behavior?
I
need to launch more than one shortcut
at a time, but when I press the
programs's hotkey and launch an
item the window closes. Do I need
to repeat the same process for
each shortcut I want to launch?
I
add shortcuts (e.g. to special
folders) but they do not immediately
appear or are not correctly shown
in the window. Why?
The program is constantly
displaying a dialog box every time I
save anything in the Desktop or My Documents
folder. Is there any way of disabling
this?
I normally use the 'Windows
Logo' key to open the Start menu and
the 'Windows Logo' key combinations
to launch Windows Explorer, etc. However,
after installing LaunchIt NOW! Plus
I am not able to use it for those purposes.
Is there any way of recovering the 'Windows Logo' key normal behavior?
Is there any other way
of selecting the Tabs than just clicking
on them?
How can I share my color
preferences with other users or use
theirs?
When the program starts up and I click on a Tab for the first time it takes some time to show the shortcuts in the view. Why?
If the window is docked to any screen edge and the mouse pointer accidentally goes outside the window border when I want to scroll the view or resize the window, the window auto-hides without letting me do what I want. How can I avoid this?
Why have the icons I set to some Tabs dissapeared?
I double-click on a .CPF file to apply the color preferences it contains but nothing happens. Why?
I have installed the program but cannot set my own colors to the window, view or Tabs because the controls are disabled. Why?
In some cases after launching a shortcut the program stops responding and cannot be closed using the mouse or <Esc> key. Why does it happen? What can I do to close it?
I see it is possible to set or change the icons to Tabs. Where can I get icons from?

| Q.
What are the Add-Ons? |
A. The Add-Ons are small and
useful programs/tools which are
designed to work exclusively with
LaunchIt NOW! Plus v2.x/3.x/2006.
However, the Add-Ons once installed
can be launched separately or
directly from the program.
to see a list of the available
Add-Ons. |

|
| Q.
Can I manually resize the window
to make space for adding new shortcuts?
|
A. Yes, you can resize the program window by simply dragging the window borders. If the window is docked to any screen edge, you should use the <F4> command or keep the <Ctrl> key down while resizing to prevent the window from auto-hiding when the mouse pointer accidentally goes outside the window border. |
|
|
| Q.
How can I add my favorite URLs
directly from my browser, HTML
or document? |
A. You can add your favorite URLs by:
1) Highlighting and dragging the URL directly from your browser's address bar, HTML or document into the program.
2) Enabling the monitoring for the 'Internet Favorites' path in the 'General' options of the 'Preferences' dialog box and then adding your favorite URL from you browser as you normally do. The program will display a dialog box asking you where to copy/move the newly added URL.
3) Highlighting and copying (Ctrl+C) the URL from your browser's address bar, HTML or document to the clipboard and then Pasting (Ctrl+V) it into the program.
4) Dragging your favorites URLs directly from the IE 'Favorites' menu into the program.
5) Opening the 'Favorites' folder in Windows Explorer and then dragging the desired URLs into the program. |
|
|
| Q.
How can I arrange the shortcuts
to make it easier to locate them
when launching them? |
A. You can sort the shortcuts
alphabetically or simply drag
the item to the desired position
and drop it. The program will
"remember" the current position
of every shortcut. |
|
|
| Q.
The shortcuts icons are always
full-size (32x32). Can I change
their sizes to small (16x16)? |
A. No, you cannot change their
sizes. We decided to use full-size
(32x32) icons in our desktop-like
window because they are easier
to locate than the small ones
usually shown in toolbars. |
|
|
| Q.
Every time I press the programs's
hotkey, the window is shown in
a different place. Can I change
this behavior? |
A. By default, the program window is shown based on the current mouse pointer, but you can force it to appear always centered on the screen or at the last position where it was moved to. Just select the 'Always center window on the screen' or 'Remember last window position' in the 'Style & Position' options in the 'Preferences' dialog box. You can even dock the window to any screen edge (top, right, bottom, left). |

| Q.
I need to launch more than one
shortcut at a time, but when I
press the programs's hotkey and
launch an item the window closes.
Do I need to repeat the same process
for each shortcut I want to launch?
|
A. You can launch several items at a time using any of the following methods:
1) Enable the 'Allow Multiple Selection' option by pressing the <F2> key. Then select all the items you want to launch and finally press the <Enter> key
2) Once the program window is shown click on the upper-right corner to 'Keep the window visible' or simply press the <F4> key at the top of the keyboard, then launch all the items you want and finally press <Esc> to close the window.
3) If the program window is not set to be always visible, press and keep down the <Ctrl> key while clicking on the items to launch.
Keep the <Ctrl> key pressed until the launched program is opened otherwise it could make the LaunchIt NOW! Plus window being closed when it loses the input focus. |
|
|
| Q.
I add shortcuts (e.g. to special
folders) but they do not immediately
appear or are not correctly shown
in the window. Why? |
A. Sometimes the program is
not notified in realtime by the
operating system when new shortcuts
have been created. In this cases
you should press the <F5> (Refresh)
command to force the program to
reload the window contents. |
|
|
| Q.
The program is constantly displaying
a dialog box every time I save anything
in the Desktop or My Documents folder.
Is there any way of disabling this? |
A. Yes, just
go to the 'Preferences' dialog box and
in the 'General' options uncheck the
paths you don't want the program to
monitor. You can use the same procedure
to prevent the My Music, My Pictures,
Quick Launch and Internet Favorites
paths from being monitored. Also, you
could check the 'Stop monitoring this
path' option at the bottom of the shown
dialog. |

|
| Q.
I normally use the 'Windows Logo' key
to open the Start menu and the 'Windows
Logo' key combinations to launch Windows
Explorer, etc. However, after installing
LaunchIt NOW! Plus I am not able to
use it for those purposes. Is there
any way of recovering the 'Windows Logo'
key normal behavior? |
A. Yes, just
go to the 'Preferences' dialog box and
in the 'Hotkey' options select 'None'
for any current 'Windows Logo' key association. |
|
|
| Q.
Is there any other way of selecting
the Tabs than just clicking on them? |
A. Yes, you
can access directly the first ten Tabs
by using the '1'...'0' numeric keys
and also use the 'Next Tab' (Ctrl+TAB,
or simply TAB) and 'Previous Tab' (Ctrl+Shift+TAB,
or simply Shift+TAB) commands to quickly
move between Tabs. |
|
|
| Q.
How can I share my color
preferences with other users or use
theirs? |
A. For sharing
your color preferences you need to save
them first from the 'Colors' options
in the 'Preferences' dialog box. Once
you have created the .CPF file you can
send it to other users.
For using a received .CPF file, simply
double-click on it (be sure you save
your current color preferences first)
or load it from the 'Colors' options
in the 'Preferences' dialog box. That's
it! |
|
|
| Q.
When the program starts up and I click on a Tab for the first time it takes some time to show the shortcuts in the view. Why? |
A. It is the normal program behavior when the Tabs cache is enabled. It makes the program to starts up faster but the shortcuts information must be refreshed before first shown. |
|
|
| Q.
If the window is docked to any screen edge and the mouse pointer accidentally goes outside the window border when I want to scroll the view or resize the window, the window auto-hides without letting me do what I want. How can I avoid this? |
A. Simply keep the window visible by using the <F4> command or keep the <Ctrl> key pressed while performing these operations. |
|
|
| Q.
Why have the icons I set to some Tabs dissapeared? |
A. Make sure the programs, DLLs or '.ico' files from where you took the icons haven't been moved or deleted. |
|
|
| Q.
I double-click on a .CPF file to apply the color preferences it contains but nothing happens. Why? |
A. Because the program is set to use 'Automatic' XP themes by default. If you want to set your own colors or import color preferences from .CPF files, simply go to the 'Style & Position' settings in the 'Preferences' dialog box and select 'Custom' in the XP themes drop-down list. |
|
|
| Q.
I have installed the program but cannot set my own colors to the window, view or Tabs because the controls are disabled. Why? |
A. Because the program is set to use 'Automatic' XP themes by default. If you want to set your own colors or import color preferences from .CPF files, simply go to the 'Style & Position' settings in the 'Preferences' dialog box and select 'Custom' in the XP themes drop-down list. |
|
|
| Q.
In some cases after launching a shortcut the program stops responding and cannot be closed using the mouse or <Esc> key. Why does it happen? What can I do to close it? |
A. The program uses the Windows shell for performing all its internal operations. So, if your shell is busy at any given time the program might not respond. Simply wait a few seconds and once the shell is idle again the program should continue working fine.
However, If the program appears frozen on your screen and you want to close it, use the <Ctrl + Alt + Del> key combination to open the Windows Task Manager and select the 'Processes' tab. Then locate and select the 'lnp.exe' name and click the 'End Process' button. The Task Manager will issue a warning message, select 'Yes' to terminate the process. |
|
|
| Q.
I see it is possible to set or change the icons to Tabs. Where can I get icons from? |
A. You can get the icons from executables (.EXE) files or dynamic-link libraries (.DLL) that contain them or by directly selecting .ICO files.
By default, you are able to select the icons contained in the 'Shell32.dll' file located in your System or System32 folder, however, you can click the 'Browse' button and search for your own icons. |
